About the event
Sundays with the Green Haven Project
The Green Haven Project — Overtown, Miami
Every Sunday, the Green Haven Project gives away free food in Overtown: groceries rescued before they expire, plus fresh produce from their own community gardens. They rescue food the same way we rescue flowers, so partnering with them made sense from the start.
The first time we joined them, I wasn't sure people lining up for groceries would care about flowers. I was wrong, and we've been looking forward to going back ever since. This Sunday, we'll be there again with buckets of rescued bouquets to hand out alongside the food.
We could use your help. Volunteers will put bouquets together and hand them out to people coming through the line. No experience needed, just a free Sunday and a willingness to say hello. If you can make it, contact us at https://www.flower-forward.org/contact-us so we know to expect you.
